The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY) holds its second Board Meeting in 2022

Under the chairmanship of H.E. Yousif Isa Bubshait, Chairman of the Board of Directors, ASRY, the Arabian Gulf’s leading maritime repair and fabrication facility, has held its second Board Meeting in 2022 on Thursday June 23rd, with the attendance of ASRY’s Managing Director Mr. Mazen Matar, members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Management team.

The Board of Directors discussed several topics within the agenda, most important of which are following up on board decisions and recommendations from previous meetings, reviewing the latest performance developments in terms of safety within ASRY, outlining the technical, commercial, and financial situation of the company, and reviewing the reports of Audit and Corporate Governance Committees.

The Board members also discussed the implementation and development of the state-of-the-art Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System that aims to generate a qualitative shift in the performance of all departments within ASRY, reflecting the company’s initiative of modernization and technological advancement.

The Board also discussed matters related to ASRY's operations and activities, especially within the fields of ship repair, rig repair, and new projects, where the Board took several key decisions to help advance ASRY and move the company further towards the path of success by increasing performance efficiency and reducing costs.

It is worth mentioning that the company has achieved number of important accomplishments during the previous period, such as achieving 10 million safe man-hours without lost time incidents. Notably, ASRY has also received the International Safety Award from the British Safety Council, affirming the company’s commitment and success in protecting the health and safety of its employees and its ability to provide a healthy and productive working environment, in addition to the successful restructuring of the Rig Repair and Supply Chain divisions and the establishment of the Mega Projects section, and launching of the new integrated Command & Control Centre in the company.

H.E the Chairman concluded the meeting by praising the contributions and efforts of the Board Members, Executive Management and all ASRY workers and employees who have excelled in their dedication and contributed effectively to the prosperity of the company.
